Nestle Business Services has donated 50 laptops and 100 desktop computers to Mr. Eric Asomani Asante, the Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher 2020. As it was read by the Nestle Business Services Representative during the ceremony, she said “ on the 23rd of November, we received a letter from Mr. Asomani Asante, Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher 2020 indicating his intension to solicit for computers and computer-based devices to support five deprived schools.
Having analysed the content of his proposal and his aspiration to help Ghanaian children learn digitally, we joined a team from the Tema Metro Education Directorate including the Most Outstanding Teacher, Mr Asomani and visited the schools in discussion.
This event took place on Thursday, 5th January 2021.
Today we have gathered here to present 50 laptops and 100 desktop computers to support the Most Outstanding Teacher’s educational project”.
In the acceptance speech of acknowledgement of receipt of the donation and appreciation, Mr. Eric Asomani Asante said, “ I am so excited to witness this short ceremony today. It has always been my dream to help and promote IT learning and technology integration in education in Ghanaian schools.
Few days after my award as the Most Outstanding Teacher 2020, I wrote and submitted a proposal to number companies to solicit for support in the construction of ICT and Science Lab complex and acquisition of computers and computer-based devices.
I am so happy and excited for the donation received from Nestle Business Services; though it is among the few companies who received the proposal not long ago.
On behalf of the Educational Project committee, headed by the Tema metro director of education (Mrs. Bernice Ofori) I say thank you for the kind gesture done me and thousands of Ghanaian children who are going to benefit from this donation.
I and the Project committee want to assure you of a purposeful usage of the computers.
Thank you Nestle, and we commend you (NESTLE) for what you have done to support and promote IT learning in Ghana.”.
These computers are going to be distributed to four basic schools and one secondary school as stated in the 2020 most outstanding teacher’s proposal.

3. Community 7 no.1 Basic school
4. Manhean TMA Basic Schools
5. Akuase SDA Basic School
The Tema Municipal Chief Executive and the Tema Metro Education Director, Bernice Ofori (Mrs.) commended the Most Outstanding Teacher for the good initiatives he embarking on.
